Comedy Workshop
You can be part of a workshop to be
staged at this year’s Leicester Comedy
Festival to encourage people in the
Christian church to engage with their
audience in fresher and more interesting
ways. Andy Kind, a comedian from
Stoke, has designed the course to help
Christian ministers, and others involved
in public speaking, to convey the Gospel
message in a more engaging, relevant
fashion.
He says, ‘‘Christianity is not seen
as accessible by the majority of people. If
we want the Gospel message to engage
with people spiritually, then we must
first learn to better engage with them in
human terms.” The course will tackle issues such
as body language, voice modulation
and overall performance skills, and is
aimed at building confidence and selfawareness. “Having faith in God
can
be a challenging affair. But as a public
speaker, having faith in yourself is probably even harder.”
